![]() ![]() The cynic in me went into Bug Fables with a slight sense of apprehension, open to the possibility that this love letter might come off as a cheap imitation at best or a cringe-worthy counterfeit at worst. But I think they don't give a damn about the "RPG" side anymore as we saw with their new Paper Mario game (Origami King) who is class as a Action Adventure game on the Eshop page (what a shame).Moonsprout Games has openly and proudly worn the inspiration for their debut title on their sleeves and has pretty much directly courted players just like me, those who grew up and loved Paper Mario and The Thousand-Year Door, to revisit the sort of game that left us so enamored when we were younger. It's a shame because they have the budget and the employe cast to made a good Paper Mario game. Since Sticker Star Nintendo prefer to shoot only generic character/enemy and really pkeoor storyline/world building. ![]() It's crazy to think that 4 persons with a low budget have made a huge game like this (this game smell love). This game was made by 4 persons (composer included). I have finish the game in 35 hours (side quest and post game included). Have a lot original optional boss with unique attack pattern (not like Bonetail/Hooktail). Bug Fables have a lot more content (even a little card game like FFVIII lol) and the majority of the side quest are interesting, not just give me 2 mushrooms, bang quest done. Also all NPC have unique design (this complain is more for Sticker Star and Color Splash). In Bug Fables you have a trio of protagonist, their character development and personality grow in each chapter. In Paper Mario (the good old school one) the problem is that your partner don't have the time to have a lot of character development, because their character arc are all stuck in one chapter, also Mario is a boring silent protagonist. I'm a huge Paper Mario fan and for me Bug Fables is better than TTYD in a lot of aspect. ![]()
